Clarification on web links
I do not put web links on my blog for two simple reasons.
1. I don't want to monitor the links to make sure they are still active
2. Since this is my blog, I feel like I should be able to present my blog how I want it presented and not how other people want me to present it.
If I use your pattern I do give your name, a web search with your name will find all your links. To me that is sufficient and the most current way.
I hope I have not offended anyone, if I have I am sorry, but this is my Fish Bowl of Tatting.

The Ribbons are Home
Our Ribbons are home and in their rightful place for everyone to enjoy. A close up of my granddaughter Meagan's
winnings.
I was delighted to receive not only ribbons and money but 2 signed tatting books, one by Riet and one by Nina.

Tatted Necklace

I just finished tatting up another of Jan Stawasz's designs from his book Tatting.
All my tatting is done in front side/back side tatting.
Instead of tatting it in size 10 thread I used Manuela size 20 thread in green. You do have to compensate by making more rings in the design. I made 21 rings before working on the 7 front designs. I could eliminate 3 rings on either side and still have a comfortable lenght. 3 rings w/beads = 1 inch or 15mm.
The 1st ring and last ring I did a SCMR so I could throw off a small ring for the clasp. I could eliminate SCMR and use a chain and ring instead. The necklace measures 19.25 inches or 49cm.

State Fair winners
Well! Well! Again, Meagan won 1st place in the youth category for her tatting. Her family is so proud of her we can hardly stand it. What an awesome job she did. She even handmade her pillow too.
Congratulations Meagan for a job well done, Nana

2009 SC State Fair Entries

Well today was the day to bring our entries to the SC State Fair.
A design by Jan Stawasz simply called Doily I call it the flowering doily. I tatted this using Manuela size 20 thread instead of size 10 as the
instructions call for.
My next entry design by Jan Stawasz simply called Necklace
from the green set.
I prefer to call it The wedding Ensemble tatted in Manuela size 20 thread. I did make a pair of earrings to match using one of the motifs in the design using 3 beads on the outside chains intead of 2. I ended with chain 5
, r = 7ds, ch 5.
When making earrings or a necklace I usually make a ring of 7 or 8 ds to add my link to. I do not use jump rings. Since I worked in the jewelry industry making Sarah Coventry jewelry in New England for years, I had a jewelers tool to open and close the link.

Tatting all around me
Well my life is being comsumed by tatting. I am no wheres near done. As soon as my pieces are finished, you will all be the first ones to see them. I keep asking myself why do I wait for the last minuete to get things done, when I had one year to finish my projects.
Maybe, because I did not decide which pieces needed to be done....LOL
Oh! the delimas of retirement...ROFLOL

What is your rainbow colors
Its been awhile since I posted. I have been busy working on my state fair projects. Nothing is done and time is running out. Its too hot to work in my garden. I am waiting for it to get a little cooler. I thought I would take a break from it all and have a little fun. Now that I had my fun its back to working on my state fair projects.
What is says about you: You are a tranquil person. You appreciate everyone around you. You are a good listener and your friends are glad to have you around in difficult times. People depend on you to make them feel secure.
Find the colors of your rainbow at spacefem.com.

Split Ring Flowering Fall Lanyard
The 1st ring is 8ds
The flowers, leaves and butter flies have 3-4-4-3
The chains are 8-8
The split rings are 7-7
Once I finished my flowering part, I proceeded into the split rings. When I felt it long enough I proceeded with the last part of flowering part and ended with a small ring of 8ds.
