Gods Creations

This butterfly is black and the underwings glisten blue.
I was in my meditation garden and came upon two beautiful sights.
Do you know what kind of butterfly this is?  I never saw one like it.

  1. Ooh, it looks like you have been visited by a Zebra Swallowtail (Protographium marcellus) butterfly.

Wikipedia describes these beautiful butterflies as "closely associated with pawpaws, and are rarely found far from these trees. The Zebra Swallowtail does poorly in developed areas, and prefers intact habitats."

It is quite a compliment to your meditation garden to receive such a shy, breathtaking visitor!

  2. And your other pretty visitor is a Pipevine Swallowtail!
